Obituary of Barbara A. Richards

Barbara A. Richards, 80, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 25th, 2022 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Barbara was the daughter of Joseph and Julia Razzo and was born in the Bronx, New York. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s Academy in 1960. Barbara was a loving mother to 4 children whom she adored, Pat, Brenda, Sharron, and David. 

Barbara was the most loving of mothers and her children were her world, second in line though was absolutely her love of animals specifically dogs. For many years Barbara has been a volunteer at Common Sense For Animals in Franklin Township. Barbara had a few jobs throughout her life but most recently worked as a group home manager in High Bridge, New Jersey and enjoyed working with all of her clients and their families. 

Barbara will be forever missed by her daughter Pat Abbott, daughter Brenda Young, daughter Sharron Burd, son David DeRemer, as well as 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

Barbara is predeceased by her brothers James Razzo and Joseph Razzo Jr. 

Barbara’s family would like to extended their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hunterdon Medical Center for their excellent care and hospitality during the most difficult of times.

Friends and family may gather for a Memorial Visitation for Barbara on Friday September 30th, 2022 from 10am until 11am at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey 07882. A Memorial Service will take place at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine Jordan-Latham leading in prayer.
