Obituary of Andrew T. King

Andrew T. “Andy” King, age 61, of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 5, 2022.  He was born August 15, 1961, to Thomas King and Julia (nee Morrin) King in Jersey City, NJ.

Andy was a graduate of Roselle Catholic High School and continued his education with a degree from Union County College. Andy worked for NVA located in Clifton, NJ as Vice President of Information Services. He was a brilliant computer programmer who loved his work.  He would often say "I can't believe I get paid to have fun.  I'd do it for free!"

Andy was married to the love of his life, Cynthia (nee Delaney), on June 21, 1986.  Together they raised two daughters, Grace and Zoe, whom he adored. His family was his world, and he loved them dearly.

Andy was interested in air and space science, especially from Apollo 11 up to current missions.  He was quite adventurous, enjoying sky diving, hot air balloons, glider planes, parasailing, zip-lining, and hang gliding.  He loved soccer whether it be playing, coaching, or watching his favorite teams; Cosmos and the Tottenham Hot Spurs. Some of Andy's favorite things included hiking in Merrill Creek, writing lists, and the 1986 Giants, but most of all, spending time with his family.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia King; daughters, Grace Sweet and her husband Raymond of Arkansas, and Zoe King from Washington, NJ; sister, Jean Marie Hicks and her husband Don.

Andrew is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Julia King.

Relatives and friends may gather with the family on Saturday, November 12th from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with words of remembrance starting at 1:30.
