The Life and Legacy of Mojoyinola

Grandma Mojoyinola Julianah Abike Ibironke, 81, (AKA Iya Nurse) departed her earthly home in (Genesis Nursing home), in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and transitioned to her heavenly home on November 24, 2022. She was born on June 18, 1941, to Pa John and Madam Owoade Fagbemi of Ile Atosa Compound, Iresi, Osun State Nigeria. She was the eldest female child of her father.

She was preceded in death by her late Father, Mother, Senior and Junior Brothers, and her Second Male child. 

Mojoyinola attained her early Elementary Standard (now primary) and Secondary School Education in Ado Ekiti and its environ in present day Ondo State. She also attended the College of Nursing/Midwife in Adeoyo State Hospital in Ibadan Oyo State Nigeria and obtained her License in Nursing and Midwifery. She worked for several years in Osun State Hospital Management Nigeria and attained the status of Senior Nurse and Midwife.  She retired and proceeded to the United States and joined her children.

Grandma Mojoyinola was a devoted Christian till her death and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a younger age. She married the love of her life, the Late Mr. Ishola Babalola Ibironke, the son of Chief J.J Ibironke the High Chief Oba-Nla Ilesha of Ijesaland. Her marriage was blessed with three children: Mrs. Oyekemi Awe, Mr. Oladiran Ibironke (of blessed memory), and Mrs. Aderonke Anifowose.

Grandma was survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, sisters, brothers, families, and friends both in the United State, Canada, Nigeria, and Around the World.

Homegoing services will be held on Friday, December 16th starting at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the start of the service. All services will be held at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington NJ 08809. Mojoyinola will be laid to rest at Montana Cemetery in Harmony Twp, NJ.
