Obituary of Wayne Gero, Sr.

Wayne Gero Sr., 81, of Oxford, NJ died peacefully at home on Monday, December 19, 2022, with his family by his side. Wayne was born on February 8, 1941, in Oxford, NJ, he was a son of the late Joseph H. Gero and Sarah E. (nee Melberger) Gero.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Oxford, NJ and was the husband of the late Deborah A. Gero, who passed on April 16, 2007.

Wayne graduated from Warren Hills High School and retired from the Pequest River Municipal Utility Authority. He enjoyed working on cars, attending local car shows with his Mustang, and spending time with his family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his two sons, Wayne Gero, Jr.and Brian Gero and his wife Mandy; brother, Joseph Gero, sister, Charlene Groff; and many nieces and nephews.  

Wayne was predeceased by his sister Yvonne Hummer and brother Barry Gero.

Friends and relatives may visit with Wayne’s family on Saturday, December 24th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Oxford, NJ. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.knolldevoefh.com.
