Obituary of Susan Ann Dobson

Susan Ann Dobson, 82, of Lebanon Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Susan graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1964 and dedicated her life to education as a beloved teacher at the Hunterdon Learning Center in Califon, New Jersey.

A devoted mother to her two sons, Scott Dobson and Sean Dobson, and a proud grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Willow Dobson, Susan was known for her warm spirit and nurturing nature. She created a loving home where family was always at the center.

In addition to her passion for teaching, Susan earned her master’s degree from Kean University later in life, exemplifying her commitment to lifelong learning. She was an avid gardener, tending to her bountiful flower garden that brought joy to her and those around her. Susan also enjoyed fishing, often spending time by the water, where she found peace and happiness.

Susan is survived by her sons, Scott and Sean, and her granddaughter, Willow. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Myrtle Butters, her brothers James Butters Jr. and John Butters, and her sister, Nancy Mavian.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to family, and love for nature. She leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration to all who knew her.
