Obituary of Dorothy Ann Woody
Dorothy Ann Woody (née Carmon), aged 82, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on January 27, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Nancy Carmon. Dorothy graduated from Orange High School in 1963. She shared her life with her loving husband, Jon Woody, with whom she created a home full of love and memories.
For nearly 20 years, Dorothy was a cherished member of the Walmart community, working as a sales associate. Her warm smile and kind spirit made her a favorite among both colleagues and customers.
Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking up hearty meals for friends and family, casting her line out on serene fishing trips, delighting in shopping excursions, and exploring new destinations through travel. She faithfully associated with Jehovah's Witnesses providing her with strength and guidance towards the end of her life.
Dorothy's memory will be treasured by all who knew her, as her presence brought joy and comfort. She leaves behind cherished family and friends who will remember her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared.She is survived by her son William Carmon (Yvonne), son Jon Woody Jr., and by a daughter Lacretia Woody. She is also survived by grandchildren: Joshina Grant, Clifford Grant, Hodari Grant (Christina), Paige Carmon, Devin Woody, and Tonya Woody. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Joseph, Ashley, Alexis, Devin, Brielle and Ja’van.
Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband Jon Woody, her mother Nancy Carmon, and by two sons Tony Carmon and Lonnie Carmon.
Dorothy’s family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Vick and Darrel for being great friends to Dorothy especially through the last few years.
A memorial service celebrating Dorothy’s life and the wonderful memories she leaves behind will be held on Monday November 11th, 2024 from 11am until 1pm at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey, 07882. Inurnment will follow all services privately at the Summerfield Cemetery.
