To the Conroy Family, I am so sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. I lost a friend and the world lost a great man. I first met Joe Conroy while working at the Grand Union grocery store in Somerville, NJ. Despite our age difference, he was close to 60 years old and I was only 18, we quickly became friends. Working alongside him for the next five years, Joe taught me more about life, hard work, and dedication than anyone I have known since. Scarcely a day passes without me remembering something that he did or said. And I wasn’t the only one who appreciated Joe: store managers, co-workers, and customers all revered him. His legacy is one of a decent and caring family-man who made the world a better place by the way he lived his life. I shall miss him.
